Cottage on Long Lake, 50 minutes north of Kingston, 30 Km. south west of Sharbot Lake, below # 7 Hiway, north of village of Parham which is on Hiway #38.

We were west of Sharbot Lake, south of Hiway 7. 10 minute drive south of the Cross Canada Trail system-goes through Mountain Grove. Ottawa is about 1 1/2 hours drive to the east. Easy drive to Kingston downtown 60 mins., Verona 30 mins., Westport 50 mins., Tamworth 30 mins. See below for shopping etc.


Private and natural setting.
Large property, 228 feet lakefront, 400 feet deep, nearly 2 acres. Rocky shoreline, two docks. Quieter lake, lower boat traffic than typical lakes.
The cottage was 29 years old. Two storey chalet style with walk out upper balcony. Deck has spacious seating area + dining table for 6 to 8 persons. Drive up to back door. Plenty of parking away from the cottage. Stone fireplace, carpeted living room and bedrooms; separate dining area from kitchen. Fully equipped eat-in kitchen plus large modern fridge, stove, microwave, food processors etc., cookbooks from around the world.
3+ bedrooms. Master bedroom-queen. Sm. b.r., two singles. Sm. b.r., one double. Linen provided. Two modern bathrooms. Shower in each. Bathtub in upper. Front load washing machine and dryer in lower bathroom. 32 in TV in liv. room Satellite TV. Bell. Standard package - plus history channel, CNBC, BBC in living room. Large library throughout cottage-thousands of books.

8x8 floating dock with ladder.
Two docks to access water. Swimming safe. Walk down steps into water or dive off docks. Ladder on main dock. No sand beach.
No weeds at water entry.
12 foot aluminum boat with 5 H.P. motor included in rent and one tank of gas-ready to go. You may need to get a Boat Smart permit to operate boat.
2 Kayaks.
Good fishing; Pickerel, Bass, Northern Pike and Perch. Small river at west end of lake. 2 rods provided. You will need need to purchase your own fishing license.

We provide a list of everything that is in the cottage to minimize what you need to bring. Spices, cooking oil etc. on hand.
Shopping: closest convenience and 1 general store in Parham - 15 minutes. Three villages within 30 minute drive with supermarkets, banks and variety of shops: Verona (B.of M), Sharbot Lake (Royal Bank) and Tamworth (CIBC). There is an local farms butcher on Hiway #38 about 5 miles south of Sharbot Lake. Golf course Rivendale (public), 25 minutes south on Hiway 38.


Perth is 45 minutes, very pretty, worth a visit. Kingston is 50-60 minutes away with all facilities. Horseback riding and other activities are available in the area. See brochures in the cottage. Studio tours may be available locally or in adjacent counties, Numerous craftsperson and artist within an hours drive. Ganonoque along the St. Lawrence has the Thousand Island boat tours and excellent summer theater. Bon echo Lake (north west) and Frontenac Park (south east) each about 45 minute drive provide great hiking and views.

Dock area on west side - room for 3 or 4 chaise lounges.

There are Racoons, Chipmunks, Groundhogs, Porcupines and our 'pet' fox in the vicinity. Many birds including Owls, Ospreys "sea eagles," and Loons. Hummingbirds are common.

The shoreline is rocky but the two docks provide safe access into the water - rock base not muddy. Trees have been thinned out and trimmed to provide lake view, but still retain privacy.

Lake looking east. Ice fishing in the winter is a common sport. We are fully winterized. A zero clearance hi efficiency fireplace was installed in 2017, replacing the old open fireplace,

The new unit keeps the entire cottage warm. Plenty of firewood on hand.
