Some verses for my nurses

Nurse, will you ever know how much it meant
My fevered soul and body spent
That night you came to check my signs
Your caring touch soothed my mind

The calm I felt, your presence near
My darkened room held no fear
Perhaps, for you a routine chore
To me that night, it meant much more

From that time I saw you anew
Not just trained in what to do
But, a life of dedication
Of which just part was medication

When no one came, you were there
My body failed, you combed my hair
And when busy you had to go
It mattered not, you’d left your glow

Now I know with clarity
I’ve been blessed by your charity
And, the flame that marks your craft
Has healed my parts and touched my heart

thank you.
